Counter Culture

Who We Are

The student ministry at Mountain Creek is called Counter Culture. It is built around three basic principles:

Teaching students the Word of God.

Helping students apply the Word of God in their lives.

Partnering with parents and guardians in the discipleship of their children.

When We Meet

Students from 6th-12th grades are invited to join us Wednesday nights at 6:30pm for our weekly Bible Study. Here, we walk through books of the Bible verse-by-verse in an age-appropriate manner. We explore the truths behind the text and how they apply to our lives. This time of study is usually accompanied by a time of worship through music and games to help break the ice.

Each week, students spend time in small groups led by adult leaders. These groups are one of the ways we challenge students and hold them accountable to apply the Word of God in their lives. We don’t want to simply teach truth, but help it sink deep into their hearts. Each student will have small group leaders who will get to know them and help them as they learn more about Jesus.

On Sunday Mornings during both services (9:15 and 10:45) we have bible study classes for middle and high school students. During this time, students spend time walking through The Gospel Project to help see the grand story of the Bible.

What We Do

Each year, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities throughout the year. These trips include summer camp, a winter retreat, service opportunities on trips and in the community, and monthly events.
