DETAILS FOR SUMMER CAMP 2019:
Mountain Creek Student Ministry (MCSM) exists to equip our students to Magnify God Together as Maturing, Ministering, and Multiplying Followers of Jesus.
OUR CORE BELIEFS:
JESUS LOVES STUDENTS
In the face of the hardships they face in today’s world, the struggles, trials & temptations they endure, and even the sins they commit, Jesus still loves students and laid down His life for them. (Romans 5:6-10)
JESUS CHANGES STUDENTS’ LIVES TODAY
Through the Gospel – Students’ lives are changed by the message of Christ’s life, death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sin and life in Him. (Romans 1:16)
By Grace through Faith – Students are not saved by being “good kids,” but by the grace of God through faith in Christ, leading them to do going works in response. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
Through the Spirit-Empowered means of His Word – Students’ lives are changed as they prayerfully encounter God through His Word – the inspired, inerrant and infallible Scriptures – through teaching and personal study. (2 Timothy 2:16-17)
Through Putting His Word into Action – Students’ lives are changed as they are challenged to be doers of the Word and not hearers only. (James 1:22)
JESUS USES STUDENTS TO REACH OTHER STUDENTS WITH THE GOSPEL
The harvest is plentiful in schools today, and the best workers in schools for the gospel are the students themselves. Christ calls and equips His people – even students – to make disciples who make disciples, for the fame of His name. (Matthew 9:36-38; Matthew 28:18-20)
OUR BELIEFS IN ACTION:
Bible Study: Sunday mornings at 9:30AM our students meet for Sunday School in middle school and high school classes.
Corporate Worship: Sunday mornings at 10:30AM our students join with the church as we gather to worship our risen Savior.
Teaching, Worship, and Evangelism: Our students come together for Counter Culture on Wednesdays at 6:30PM during the school year. Counter Culture is a gathering of middle and high school students to connect with one another and with God. We worship God together through music and hearing the Gospel explained and applied with a focus on 6th-12th grade students.
Community and Personal Growth: Our students travel annually to a youth winter conference and we participate in regional camps or mission trips in the summer, as well as a Disciple Now weekend every spring. These opportunities to get away together strengthen our students in community and help them take great steps forward in their walk with God through biblical teaching and worship.
Discipleship: There are opportunities to connect in smaller Bible study groups within our student ministry. If you’re interested in this as a student participant or as a leader, please contact us for more information.
Mission: Our students engage in several service opportunities throughout the year in the Greenville area, as well as summer mission trips in the southeast U.S. Also, we encourage our students to join with our church in an international mission trip before graduation. As juniors or seniors with parental permission, they can travel without a parent on these trips; for sophomores and younger, a parent must accompany them with our team.
