Martha Crouse
Minister of Music
Growing up in a very small town in North Carolina, I accepted Jesus as my Savior at the age of 8 during a NC Baptist G.A. Camp. At my home church, East Maiden Baptist, I grew up serving anywhere I could find the opportunity. Besides being involved in assisting with the various music programs, I also served as the Volunteer Youth Minister for several years.
My love for music began at the age of 5 when I began playing the piano. In school and church, singing began to be a big part of my life. After graduating from Maiden High School and attending UNC-Greensboro for several years, I began a solo concert ministry around 1982 and began ministering in churches throughout western North Carolina. It was during one of those concerts in 1986, that I met Steve Crouse who was serving as Minister of Youth and Music at a local church. We married in 1989 and began to work together in his ministry.
In 1991, God led us to North Greenville University where Steve serves as Vice President of Campus Ministries. After our move to South Carolina, I began serving with numerous local churches as interim music minister. In 1995, during one of those interims, God led us to Mountain Creek Baptist Church. I committed to serve as interim for 3 weeks but God has given me the privilege of serving at Mountain Creek ever since.
Steve and I have 3 children, Stephen (1995), Caleb (1999) and Moriah (2003). Besides serving at the church as the minister of music, I am a full-time wife, mother and I am homeschooling our children. I also enjoy working in Steve’s ministry at North Greenville, by assisting with Joyful Sound when needed and accompanying the North Greenville University President’s Quartet.
God has blessed my family in more ways that I could have possibly dreamed. The very least I can do for Him is to use any talents He may choose to give me for His glory alone.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38.
