Mission Opportunties

For the glory of God and the joy of all peoples Mountain Creek is committed to sending our people to take the Gospel to all nations.

Go: Long-Term

Our church is asking God to allow us to send a family or individual to an unreached people or place by the end of 2022. Candidates for long-term missionary service should express their interest to one of our pastors. Candidates will then enter the Sending Pipeline to be:

> Assessed > Equipped > Trained > Sent > Supported

Go: Mid-Term

Mid-Term Missionaries serve 6 months to three years. Students, retirees, newlyweds, remote workers, and many others can all can find a place on a church planting team. Candidates for mid-term missionary service should express their interest to one of our pastors. Candidates will then enter the Sending Pipeline to be:

> Assessed > Equipped > Trained > Sent > Supported

GO: Short-Term

Mountain Creek sends strategic short-term teams to partner with long-term workers to make disciples and serve the local church. In 2022 we hope to send teams to Myrtle Beach (Family Mission Trip), Boston, and North Africa. Candidates for a short-term trips should be MCBC members in good standing and actively involved in the life of the church through worship and service. Candidates will go through the following process:

  • Interest—Express interest to one of our pastors and/or attend one of the Mission Trip Interest Meetings. This does not commit you to a trip, but lets the trip leaders know to keep you informed about trip opportunities.
  • Application—Those ready to take the next step toward going on a trip should fill out the Mission Trip Application Form (also embedded below).
  • Confirmation—Team members will be notified that their application has been approved and given a confirmation date. By that date team members should confirm they are going by turning in a $75 non-refundable deposit, signed Commitment and Medical Release Forms, a copy of their passport (international trips) or driver’s license (domestic trips), and a copy of their medical insurance card.
  • Training—Each team member is expected to participate in the Mission Team Training opportunities made available for each trip. These trainings will be a combination of video and in-person training. Anyone going to work in an area of material poverty is highly encouraged to watch the video series Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions.
  • Funding—Team members are responsible for the cost of the trip. Depending on the trip, the church may help offset the cost of the trip through gifts, offerings, and/or fundraisers. Team members are encouraged to raise trip support from their social networks of family and friends, but we ask team members not to send out support letters to church members.
